New appointments strengthen the team at Brookland Robertson
Brookland Robertson is entering an exciting new chapter, with recent staff changes strengthening leadership and resident support across the village.
Following long serving Village Manager Leilani Leslie’s move to new opportunities, Assistant Village Manager Deb Mair has stepped into the role of Village Manager. A Brisbane local with strong community values, Deb brings extensive leadership experience spanning the wool industry, policing, aged care and over 50s resort management.
“I’ve always been drawn to roles centred around people and community,” Deb said.
“It’s a privilege to lead such a welcoming and connected village, and my focus is ensuring residents feel heard, supported and truly at home.”
Supporting Deb is Janelle Kiley, who has recently been promoted to Assistant Village Manager. Born in New Zealand and raised in Brisbane, Janelle’s background includes property and education administration, along with 11 years as a teacher aide while raising her children.
“I’m a true people person and love connecting with residents from all walks of life,” Janelle said. “I’m enjoying the new challenges and opportunities to grow in this role.”
The team has also welcomed Rachel Maddalena as Resident Services Officer. With a strong background in administration and sales support, Rachel was seeking a more meaningful role when she joined Brookland Robertson.
“I wanted a position where I could genuinely help people and feel valued for the support I provide,” Rachel said.
“The team culture here is so positive, and the residents are incredibly warm and appreciative.”
Outside the village, Deb enjoys hiking, playing the drums and spending time with her growing family, including her new grandson. Janelle can often be found at the gym or learning guitar, while Rachel stays active through hiking, cycling and volunteering in the community.
Together, the refreshed leadership team reflects Brookland Robertson’s continued commitment to fostering a supportive, community-focused environment for residents.
