Christmas greetings from Reside Communities CEO Glen Brown

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and what a year 2024 has been!

Here at Brookland Robertson, village life is flourishing – reflecting the positive impact of our collective efforts and the strong foundations we’ve built. Of course, none of this would be possible without the unwavering support of everyone at Reside Communities.

As we reflect on the milestones and achievements of 2024, we’re reminded of the power of connection, collaboration, and continuous enthusiasm. And there’s plenty to celebrate!

Here are some of the highlights from this year…

Opening the doors to Brookland’s The Banksia

There was plenty to celebrate with completion of the final stage of Brookland Robertson, The Banksia, which marked the end of our $40 million overhaul.

Our popular retirement community, which celebrated completion of Stage One ‘The Waratah’ in October 2022, is already home to 150 retirees – and now even more Brisbane seniors are enjoying this five-star lifestyle.

Completion of The Banksia brings an additional 52 architecturally designed one, two and three-bedroom apartments to the village, taking the total number of residences to 91.

There is also a new cinema and library, adding to the extensive community amenities, which include a health club, indoor swimming pool, ultra-modern gym, lavish bar and lounge, hair and beauty salon, impressive clubhouse and stunning outdoor recreation areas.

The Banksia is a stylish new addition to an already thriving community.

Social club plants time capsule to mark 40th anniversary

The completion of our village was perfectly timed to coincide with Brookland’s 40th anniversary, which included a week of celebrations and the planting of a time capsule.

The activities were organised by our social club, who set out to make it an extra special occasion.

The group spent 18 months planning a week of activities to commemorate the event, starting with regency dancing, followed by an entertainer and then a performance by Robertson State School Choir.

The celebrations ended with a catered lunch on October 5, accompanied by live music and dancing for more than 150 people.

The anniversary lunch was attended by our village team as well as the senior leadership team.

Happy holidays!

As we enter the holiday season, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you – our residents, staff, partners, and stakeholders – for your ongoing dedication and commitment. Your contributions make a real difference in shaping the vibrant, thriving communities we are so proud to call home.

We look forward to another year of growth, success, and continued connection, and we are excited for all the opportunities 2025 will bring.

May this festive season bring you joy, peace and time to reflect on the wonderful moments of 2024.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at Reside Communities!
