Then and now: the Brookland café

Established in 1984, the Brookland Robertson community has a vibrant, long history in south Brisbane.

Known for its peaceful atmosphere, connected location and green spaces, did you know Brookland is also known (among residents) for its great coffee?!

Brookland has always been home to a café, but it’s safe to say that it’s looking a lot different nowadays since the completion of the new five-star Community Clubhouse in 2022.

Let’s take a look at what’s changed behind the café counter over the years!

Then: Brookland Robertson’s own Village Manager, Leilani, would serve freshly brewed coffee, tea and treats for residents and guests. She really is a jack of all trades!

There was also a small amount of seating at the entrance to the community centre.

Now: The new Brookland café has a whole team of attendants and baristas.

The menu features gourmet treats from pies and salads, to fish and chips, lasagne, toasties, cakes, croissants and more! Tasty beverages are also available and include milkshakes, juice, coffee, tea and iced drinks.

With plenty of seating around the café, billiards table and piano, the community centre is often filled with residents, their families and guests for special events and social catch-ups.
