Expo draws a crowd

Brookland Retirement Village hosted a Retirement Living Expo on Tuesday 7 May to provide prospective residents with information about village life and making the move.

A range of expert guest speakers came along to present on the day.

Local real estate agent Owen Chen from Place Sunnybank spoke about the local real estate market and selling your home.

Tammy Berghofer from Minter Ellison, one of Australia’s preeminent retirement village legislation experts, gave an overview of recent legislative changes.

Home care provider Five Good Friends gave information about the benefits of home care in a retirement village.

Brookland resident Ann Fletcher also spoke about the benefits of village life and the difference moving to Brookland has made to her and her husband’s lives.

“We haven’t looked back since!” she said.

Brookland Retirement Village has been offering quality retirement living for more than 30 years.

Local businesses and allied health partners, including an exercise physiologist, podiatrist and dietician, also held information stands.

Afterwards, a Devonshire tea was served and visitors were invited to tour the village’s available homes.

The event was well-attended with more than 80 visitors coming along to enjoy the day.
